Upon arrival customer stated that system was having a burnt smell when they turned the heat on. After inspection of 3 year old system found that insulation on the inside of door pulled into system and was blocking half of the blower wheel not allowing any airflow in the daycare area. I secured the insulation back to panel, checked system the 20kw heater is properly working. Systems only has electric heat. Blower wheel is clean, evaporator coils was starting to develop build up. Changed customer supplied filter was very clogged and dirty. Started system back up and system is heating with no issues. Spoke with owner of daycare she is interested in receiving a free estimate to replace two systems at her home office will reach out to schedule. System does not have any flood protection on it sent customer estimate to add with Uv light.

Found bad wiring from a previous electrician, he had bypassed having a neutral by combining grounds and neutrals to create a fake neutral to get the dimmer to work, had to rewire three switch boxes to correct issue.

For this job, I completed a troubleshoot for a room without power. I found that it was caused by an outlet that went bad due to age and poor install. I recommended to the customer to replace the outlet and replace all other outlets in the home. The customer is currently in the process of closing on the home and is going to try and re-negotiate with the seller to do the work.

I responded to a service call to diagnose a lighting circuit that the customer reported was intermittently tripping the circuit breaker. During a two-hour troubleshooting session, I was unable to recreate the issue, and the breaker did not trip at any point. The affected lighting circuit supplies the sunroom, dining room, kitchen, carport, and two exterior post lights. I inspected switches, pulling down light fixtures, and confirming there was no moisture intrusion in the exterior lights. No loose connections or visible faults were found. An amp clamp reading at the breaker showed no more than 2 amps with all lights turned on. The Square D Homeline dual-function breaker tested properly, and all connections at the breaker were tight. I advised the customer to contact me if the issue occurs again so I can continue troubleshooting.
